Floor liners are the decision most owners get wrong, because a "mat" and a "liner" are different products: a proper laser-fit liner has raised edges that trap liquid, while a flat mat slides and lets water reach the carpet. What is the difference between a floor liner and a floor mat?
A liner is laser-fit to the specific footwell with raised edges and channels that contain water, mud and melted snow so it never reaches the carpet. A mat is a flatter, cheaper piece that covers the middle of the floor but lets liquid run off the sides — and, if it is not retained properly, can slide toward the pedals. For a truck that sees dirt and wet gear, the liner is the correct purchase.
Do I need crew-cab-specific interior parts for the TRX?
Yes. Every TRX is a crew cab, so floor liners, seat covers and rear cargo pieces should be ordered as crew-cab fitments for the fifth-generation (DT) Ram 1500. Watch out for "Ram 1500 Classic" listings, which are for the previous-generation truck and do not fit.
Are seat covers safe with side airbags?
Only if they are designed for it. Seats with side-impact airbags need covers built with a designed release seam so the airbag can deploy through the cover. Confirm airbag compatibility explicitly on the listing rather than assuming, and match any heated or ventilated seat cutouts your truck has.
